The Samsung series 6 is good for the 52 inch level. You can also look at the Sony X series. 1080p with 100 MHZ and 50k contrast ratio plus 3 years of warranty should be compelling enough. Also get one that will accept the 1080p 24 Hz output of the blu-ray. That will give the best picture for movies. honeslty i went to the store planning on buying a new LCD tv for under 1000 dollars cause i also have a ps3. There are so many choices, but at walmart i purchased today a phillips brand for 998.00 and it looks awsome especially when playing the ps3
