Why does my Sony LCD 50″ have a huge blue growing blob in the bottom right corner and blue dots now showing up?

It is a 2005, I have a 4 yr warranty thank goodness at ideal purchase and have a tech coming purchase. Do you think they’ll fix it or will I get a new tv?

Its a faulty light engine. They will replace light engine with new one.
Sony has had this major issue with these units. Its a design problem. They know they have the issue and in most cases will warranty it even when out of warranty.

This is funny because this happens to my friend and he says it is because he dropped it. Have you dropped it or has it been hit in that spot lately
