I had a Sony DSC-R1 and it was stolen from my office. I would like the same features in an affordable camera…any recommendations?

Answer:
The Canon PowerShot S# IS ultra zoom series is synonymous with articulated LCD screens. The S5 IS is most current but it's set to be replaced by the SX10 IS in the upcoming weeks.

However, the DSC-R1 was one-of-a-kind in that it housed a sensor similar in size to APS-C sensors used in DSLRs. You might not get the same results with a new bridge camera, in terms of image quality, that you did with your Sony. Unfortunately, there are cameras currently available that share the same specification.
