Am getting a 40 in. lcd tv, am told the sound isn’t good on these tv have a home cinema system.?

it is ordinary dvd player not recorder but is 5.1 surround sound. can i connect the speakers to the tv to get superior sound, if so what do i need to do.
Answer:
Depends on your tv and what connections you have.
You will most likely need a decoder because just conncting speakers on their own won't boost the power
I do it with a Creative Labs DT100 S decoder and a 5-1 speaker system, also by Cretaive Labs
